What to Expect in a Sex Education Session

As a sex educator, my goal is to create a safe, respectful, and educational environment where clients feel comfortable exploring and learning about various aspects of sexuality. Whether you're an individual, a couple, or a group, understanding what to expect in a sex education session can help alleviate any anxieties and set the stage for a productive experience.

First Meeting: Setting the Stage

The initial session is crucial for establishing a foundation of trust and understanding. Here's what you can expect:

When you reach out to request an appointment, I will begin by sending you an Excel spreadsheet containing over 70 initial topics to choose from. These topics cover a wide range of subjects, from male and female vibrators and toys to the world of kink, safety, biology, and the differences between various lubes and games. You will check the boxes for the topics you want to learn about.

After you've selected your topics, I will send you a detailed written questionnaire via email. This helps me understand how in-depth you want to go on each topic and any specific questions or concerns you might have. Once you've completed the questionnaire and we've scheduled our first session, we'll have our initial meeting.

During our first session, we'll start with a brief introduction where I explain my background, qualifications, and approach to sex education. I also emphasize the importance of confidentiality, ensuring that everything discussed in our sessions remains private.

We will then discuss your goals for sex education and any boundaries or beliefs you have regarding sex and sexuality. This step is vital to ensure that the sessions are tailored to your needs and respectful of your comfort levels. Based on your selected topics and questionnaire responses, I will create a customized lesson plan that outlines what will be covered in subsequent sessions, ensuring a structured and coherent learning experience.

Subsequent Sessions: Diving Deeper

After the initial session, the subsequent meetings will be more focused on the specific topics you selected. Here's what these sessions might look like:

You can choose to have your lessons either in person at our Orem office, over Zoom, or, for certain topics, at a local sex store in American Fork. Each setting offers unique advantages depending on your learning preferences.

Especially for topics involving products like vibrators, toys, or games, hands-on learning can be incredibly beneficial. At the local sex store, I have access to over 200 demo products. You can touch, feel, and see how these products work out of the box. This practical experience is invaluable for making informed decisions.

For sessions at the store, I provide samples of edible products to taste and lube samples to feel. This allows you to gain a comprehensive understanding of your options, helping you make the best choices for yourself.

I offer specific lessons geared towards women, focusing on sexuality and body image. These sessions aim to empower women to feel confident and knowledgeable about their bodies and sexual health.

Throughout all sessions, I prioritize creating an environment where you feel safe and respected. I am conscious of the sensitivity that can arise when discussing sex and always strive to be mindful of your boundaries and beliefs.

As we progress, your needs and interests might evolve. I remain flexible and adaptable, ensuring that the lessons continue to be relevant and engaging. Your feedback is crucial, and I encourage open communication to tailor the sessions to your satisfaction.

Empowering Through Education

Sex education is more than just learning about anatomy or techniques; it's about empowering you to make informed decisions about your sexual health and relationships. By providing a personalized and respectful learning experience, I aim to help you develop a positive and healthy sexual script that aligns with your values and desires.

Whether you're looking to enhance your personal knowledge, improve your relationship, or explore new aspects of your sexuality, sex education sessions offer a supportive and informative space to do so. I look forward to embarking on this educational journey with you, helping you navigate the complexities of sexual health and well-being with confidence and clarity.
